US Weekly is reporting that Nicki Minaj is close to signing a deal to become the second new addition to Fox's American Idol. Minaj is renown for her unique outfits and personality, making her an original pick but solid choice to judge up and coming talent considering she's still selling a ton of records in the current market. The youngest of the Jonas Brothers, Nick, is also in serious talks to join the judging panel along with Pharrell Williams who is in consideration.
"The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens," tweeted Jonas.
Longstanding Idol personality Randy Jackson is likely going to be leaving the judges table after eleven seasons and taking the role of mentor on the program. The only familiar face guaranteed to be making a return to American Idol will be host Ryan Seacrest. The show is set to return live on Fox next January.
