Random BLAM! Green Lantern Portrait Chalk Art for C2E2

Fan-favorite and comic convention veteran Eric M. Maruscak has been tasked to recreate Ivan Reis and Joe Prado's Hal Jordan poster for the C2E2 showroom floor. Check out the work in progress here!

C2E2 Poster

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) is a convention spanning the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga and video games. From a show floor packed with hundreds of exhibitors, to panels and autograph sessions giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators, to screening rooms featuring sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either the big or small screen, C2E2 brings the best of popular culture to downtown Chicago. This years Expo is scheduled to take place the weekend of March 18th - 20th, 2011.

From Eric's website: These days I am mostly known as a Chalk Artist. My giant chalk art and street murals have been appearing at festivals and conventions since the summer of 2004. My work has been seen at the New York City Comic Con, the New York Anime Festival, the Baltimore Otakon, The Penny Arcade Expo, Star Wars Celebration V, a number of the Wizard World shows, and in cities across America including Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.

His latest work -- based on the above poster image created by comic artists Ivan Reis and Joe Prado -- will be on dislpay at C2E2; and he plans of putting around 25-30 hours of additional work into it over the course of the show. Here is the project sketch in the early stages of production:

OMG! If I had so much money, I would buy that thing and make my room floor out of it. Of course, I would protect it with a large tough glass material so no one would place their footprints on such a beautiful piece.
