BTW, that last pic is right before Hal Jordan fights Hammond for the first time at Ferris Air

I have to admit. The more I see Lively in these pics the more I can see her as Carol Ferris. Can't wait for a trailer.

The make-up on Robbins is great and I really like the look on Reynolds' face in the last pic. I really, really want to see some constructs though. :

Cap and Green Lantern will own! Thor......maybe.

The more I see Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, the more I become convinced she'll be the movies biggest miscast. I can strongly imagine people, like myself, walking out of the theater and thinking "That movie was cool, but if I had to change one thing about it... it'd be Lively." Especially, down the road, when her character gets into the Star Sapphire persona. I don't see it at all with Lively.
Erin Cummings, Alexa Davalos, Sienna Guillory or Rhona Mitra would fit the role exceptionally better than Blake. I know it's spilled milk at this point, so I'm just sayin'.

Dude, Thor is being directed by Kenneth frickin' Branagh. He's directed some of the most acclaimed adaptions of Shakespeare's plays on film. There's nothing to worry about on that end either. 2011 will be an amazing movie season all around for us comic fans.

Have you seen The Town yet? A lot of people are saying that she did a pretty incredible job in that one. It's on my list of "things I still need to see".

Naaah, GL and Thor are guaranteed awesome. I'm more worried about Cap.

I have seen it and yes she did a fine job in The Town but then again I was already pleased with her indie work(NOT Gossip Girl or The Sisterhood franchise)PRIOR to The Town such as The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and Elvis and Annabelle.

Yes, I know Ken Branagh is directing, but this is such a major departure from his older works. I know Henry V is similar to Thor in some respects, but based on the first trailer, it seems as though the action sequences don't match the elements of Thor's true power. They seem so generic. Maybe I'm jumping the gun since the next trailer will hopefully be much better and show some actual thunder and giant Frost Giants, but the trailer did not impress me as I hoped it would. The first time I saw it, I was like "Wow, I'm excited!" but as I keep watching it, I realize that it seems a bit average than presenting that "Wow" factor. I love the overall cinematography and epic tone the trailer showed with Loki's great costume and menacing presence, Odin's authority, and Thor's ego, but some of the scenes looked a bit corny. The thing that irked me a bit was at the beginning, when Thor was kicking SHIELD agent ass, the sound effects of the punches and kicks sounded fake. Another thing was the way Thor was shown in the trailer, he seemed to be really depowered and a bit Smallvillish. I loved the Destroyer though. The creatures or Frost Giants seem really small. Then again it was just the first trailer, and it was not official rather a test footage trailer. I'm sure Marvel will make the next trailer much better. It's just that I really love the character and I really want this film to be a success. Kenneth Branagh's reputation cannot really justify whether this film will be good or not since he has never delved in this genre before. Some great directors who tackle different genres from there resume sometimes fail, and hopefully Ken will not with Thor. Another thing is that Thor's story will be tricky to handle especially trying to please audiences who have never read or heard any of his stories. Thor is very different from the usual superhero. Green Lantern and Captain America are more widely known and relatable. Then again people accepted Transformers and other more obscure comic book films. So I really can't say yet if Thor will be a success, but here's to hoping. I do agree with you on 2011 being a great year for comic fans and for the movie industry!

Cap actually looks really good and faithful bro. Thor looks to be EPIC, I hope, but the first trailer looked a bit average. When the second trailer hits, then I will know if Thor is a guaranteed success. I can tell you this, Thor, Cap, and GL will undoubtedly be successful in stacking up huge green due to curiosity. Everyone or almost everyone will want to know the stories of these superheroes mainly due to the amount of imagination put into the stories. All that's left in mystery is whether the quality of the directing is just as great as the story.

I agree with Samaritan. I'm more confident in Green Lantern and Captain America than Thor. I'm a fan of Branagh but the one thing I've always doubted was how well he'll be able to do action, which is the main selling point in a Thor movie for me. Thor's story doesn't interest me as much as GL and CA. The action has to be dynamic and on a god-like level. GL is a space cop and CA is a soldier. Thor is a warrior. They haven't shown much of that yet and the thought of frost giants being as tall as the Navi is a downer.
Upupandaway
@Samaritan- I get what you're saying, but I'm thinking much of the Thor action stuff (like much of the GL space stuff) is being done in post-production. As for Thor's story, may I suggest the "Loki" limited series. It doesn't have much action, but it's a great look at how Thor's story works on that Shakespearean level. I wasn't too impressed with the frost giants either, but I'm thinking that might not be what they are. Thor has lots of enemies in Asgard, so it could be them as well or they may have not done the digital touch up that makes them particularly huge. Anyways, I'm excited by all of these movies. We'll have to just disagree with Branagh though. While he hasn't done a lot of action, he's done enough to know how to shoot it, also he'll have some help from fight choreographers, stunt people, SFX, etc. I was entranced by all five hours of his version of Hamlet. I just have to be impressed by a director being to keep my attention for that long.

Exactly my point bro! I love Thor, and I'm glad that Marvel is at least making their characters more internationally known, but Thor is a bit too tricky. I do not think it will garner the amount of audiences GL and Cap will most likely achieve, but it will still grab a big audience. I just believe that GL and Cap have better stories to tell. They are very relatable. Thor is along the lines of "hit or miss". It will have to be extremely compelling. I just can't see my friends have interest in the character, and they are not comic book readers. They are actually very excited for GL and Cap due to the recognition and mention from other people of those two. When I showed the Thor trailer to them, they had a variety of complaints. One, obviously being that Marvel is butchering Norse Mythology, which I told them that it is Marvel's universe and not old literature, but they still did not want to watch Thor. Another complaint is that it is a dumb idea of putting a "GOD" in modern times. Another being why Norse Gods have British accents. Another is how will they really make Asgard a believable part of the modern world, which sounds like a religious question lol. I mean there is so many complaints from people, who do not even know the Marvel Thor. Look on youtube and other websites and you'll see so many people complain. Thor would appeal to mainly comic fans, like me. What I am just saying is that there is a heavy burden Ken will have to carry and try to make it successful compared to the directors for Cap and GL, which are properties that have more potential and possibilities of being successful.

All I can say is we'll have to see when Thor releases
I just hope it will change the non-believers. I am still more confident in GL and Cap, but we'll see.

...and here I thought the Thor trailer shows quite a bit of action. I guess we need to wait and see, though I can't see any of the other mentioned films being better than Thor. Just from the overall cast alone, I am still more stoked for Thor.
GL looks good! It's so nice to come to an article and not see the childish "we've seen these images already" comments. Nice job Blam!

He really does look like Hal Jordan.

As for the ring. I swear it looks like a DC direct release from around 1998?

Pietro's pretty sure that's a BS review. There's almost no chance that WB is letting random people on the internet give them feedback through a survey, they're far too protective of this movie to do that. They've likely already done their closed focus tests, and those people probably had to sign NDA's.
