Roger Waters Clears Up Claims of Anti-Semitic Imagery from his Live Show

Roger Waters is currently on tour playing Pink Floyd's The Wall the way he always wanted it to be seen, in grand fashion. A lot has changed in the 30 years since he last tried this endeavor, from technology to political correctness and all points in between.

The Anti Defamation League recently took issue with one of the videos that played during the song 'Goodbye Blue Sky'. While many images are used in the video; crucifixes, Muslim crescents, Shell Oil logos, the league was concerned with images of the Star of David being shown falling like bombs and being followed by dollar signs. Abe Foxman, the leader of the ADL said:

“It is outrageous that Roger Waters has chosen to use the juxtaposition of a Jewish Star of David with the symbol of dollar signs,” he wrote. “While he insists that his intent was to criticize Israel's West Bank security fence, the use of such imagery in a concert setting seems to leave the message open to interpretation, and the meaning could easily be misunderstood as a comment about Jews and money.”

Waters denies any anti-Semitic intent and modified the video for the October 6th show at New York's Madison Square Garden. Instead of dollar signs following the Star of David, it is now the Mercedes symbol.
