First Look at GREEN LANTERN THE ANIMATED SERIES
Published: October 7, 2010 - 11:30am
The first image for Cartoon Network's new series on Green Lantern has been released. Green Lantern: The Animated Series will debut some time in 2011. People in attendance at this year's New York Comic Con will get to see a preview.

From TV Guide.com:
Executive producer Bruce Timm — whose infinite credits include the beloved animated series starring Batman, Superman and the Justice League — will headline the panel on Saturday at 2:30pm, alongside producer Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and producer/story editor Jim Krieg (Ben 10: Alien Swarm). Following the panel, from 4:00 to 5:00pm, the team will be signing posters (with this image) at the DC Comics booth.
The image is actually from a poster that will be given away at this weekend’s NYCC. The Green Lantern series will be the first computer-generated, animated series featuring DC Universe comics characters. The story will focus on Hal Jordan, Kilowog (his Corps drill instructor) and an yet to be named Red Lantern. The Red Lanterns are a savage parallel to the Green Lantern. The Red Lantern Corps is fueled by the light of rage, and its ring-wielders roam the galaxy seeking violent retribution and death.
The series will not be considered canon for the live-action movie franchise.

It certainly looks very "Bruce Timm" style, but I think I'm ok with that, the costume is more faithful than the one in First Flight. I'm officially looking forward to this

It seems to remind me of a touch of The Incredibles style in some ways. Though, I indeed hope this stays more in line with the trilogy than First Flight did.
