A voice cast of James Denton, Christina Hendricks, Ed Asner and Anthony LaPaglia as was recently announced for DC Entertainment's latest animated feature film, All-Star Superman. Based on the comic run written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Frank Quitely, the story begins with the Man of Steel (Denton) oversaturated by radiation during a rescue mission near the sun, accelerating the degeneration of his cells. Knowing that he has a limited time before he dies, Superman sets out on a journey that sees him revealing his secret to Lois Lane (Hendricks), giving Lex Luthor (LaPaglia) an epiphany on humanity and ensuring the safety of Earth for when he is gone.

Courtesy of MTV Splashpage, we now have the movie's first trailer:

As with all DC Universe animated features, such as Batman: Under the Red Hood and Green Lantern: First Flight, All-Star Superman will be rated PG-13. The film is scheduled for home release in the Spring of 2011.

John, you need to read these. It's only the two books, and worth every penny.

Not sure about James Denton for Supes voice but this looks good so far. They have these DC animated movies down to a science now. Just wish they'd step outside the cash cow of Superman & Batman more often.

I'd hate to sound like a silly voice-over actor groupie, but I have grown too accustomed to Clancy Brown's Lex Luthor. Everyone else just doesn't seem to be up there. Nowhere near as slick, suave, and sinister as Brown. But, that won't stop me from getting this. DC animated is on the ball. Looking for a Flash and new WonderWoman movie. Like someone said, they need to break away from their cash cow. Howabout a Hawkman movie??
