Andrew Lincoln Discusses Comics & Playing Rick Grimes in THE WALKING DEAD

FX:UK has released another promo photograph of Andrew Lincoln from the upcoming comic adapted series, The Walking Dead. They've also revealed more Q&A from a recent session with Lincoln and fans.

Lincoln was asked if he would consider moving from his native UK to the United States if The Walking Dead turns into a smash hit. He said he isn't so sure yet but had an amazing 5 months of shooting the first season on American soil.
"At the moment I’m so excited about just playing Rick in The Walking Dead. I think there is a long way to go with telling this story and working with this character. We have only scratched the surface, or I certainly have of discovering who Rick is and where he could go and all the fans of the comic book will know what an immense journey he goes on," said Lincoln.

He was also asked that if and when Rick becomes his iconic starring role, will he be OK with the fact that people from now on will always think of him as that character from The Walking Dead.
"I just think it’s the highest form of praise, to be associated so closely with a character and I hope that that‘s what people do actually. I’d be very touched if that’s the case, because it means the work that I’ve done and the commitment that I’ve devoted to the show is paying off.
"My whole career has been trying to do different things and changing people’s perceptions and so if that’s the case it means that I’ve succeeded to a degree in that area, which is the highest form of flattery I suppose, but hey it’s all up in the air," he said.
He was also asked if he was at all into any comics, so Lincoln went over to his bookshelf and started listing off some of his nerd literature.
"I’m standing in front of my bookshelf now and I’ve got a whole selection: Essential Fantastic Four, The Sandman, The Adventures of Luther Arkwright, these are all my graphic novels. The Authority, The Watchmen, Strength in Numbers, and then I’ve got Iron Fist, The Walking Dead and The Adventures of Tin Tin, I’ve got Mouth, that’s my graphic novel collection," he said.
The Walking Dead chronicles the travels of Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. The six episode first season of The Walking Dead begins on October 31st, 2010, on AMC.
