Motorhead's Lemmy Defends Nazi Collection; Disturbed Frontman Not Pleased

One of metal's legendary frontmen, Lemmy Kilmister from the band Motorhead, was recently interviewed by IdahoStatesman.com; where he mentioned his affinity with collecting Nazi artifacts.

Lemmy spoke in regards to an interview he did in 2009 with Rolling Stone saying,

"It was quite funny, because I brought (the journalist) around to my house, which looks like a shrine to Nazism. But it's just my collection. I mean, you can't put it all in the cupboard; it won't fit."

"I only collect the stuff. I didn't collect the ideas," said Lemmy.

Lemmy isn't the only musician who is drawn to Iron Cross symbolism in his clothing and album artwork - Slayer's Jeff Hanneman is also known to collect old Nazi stuff. During an interview with Revolver magazine, Disturbed's frontman David Draiman, who is Jewish, unleashed at the idea of wearing or collecting items that he finds despicable.

"That's super-duper taboo and offensive to me. I don't understand the fascination. It's the most provocative imagery that you can brandish, and that's why people utilize it. And if that's their goal, I guess they're achieving it," said Draiman.

Lemmy defended his collection saying he is simply making a hobby out of keeping old war artifacts around the home. Draiman still doesn't care and lashed out again saying,

"I don't give a f*** who you are. If you're going to brandish Nazi symbolism, I'm going to have a problem with you because I don't understand how anybody could think it's OK to wear something on their body that symbolizes the annihilation and genocide of my people. I'm not OK with that and there is no excuse and there is no explanation," said Draiman.

Motorhead just wrapped recording their newest and 20th studio album, which is due for release sometime in 2011.

Well David Draiman can shove that microphone down his throat and shut the hell up. It would both cure his stupidity, and stop him from re-releasing "ten thousand fists" every 2 years.

Watch Disturbed's old home video, if you like him, your opinion of him will change very quickly... one word... douche lol. As well as their tall guitarist.

I also read a long time ago that System of a Down singer said that we deserved 9/11. Not kidding. It was in an old Revolver magazine, and it was so bad he was getting death threats in his mail and stuff. Two bands who I thought were good at the time, completely ruined the music for me with the [crap] they have said. I don't support shitty people.
