The next installment of Wolverine's solo adventures finds the adamantium laced mutant heading to Japan before he joined up with the X-Men. The movie will rely on samurai elements and is based upon the character's 1982 mini-series written and illustrated by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller respectively.

Wolverine is rumored to start out in a Canadian prison with an opportunity to get out if he goes to Japan and will supposedly face off against Silver Samurai at some point. (by Bryan Kritz)

The film is set in an alternate history 1985 at the height of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, as a group of mostly retired vigilantes investigates an apparent conspiracy against them and uncovers something even more grandiose and sinister.
