Still no solid release date on Guild Wars 2, but it seems ArenaNet is hard at work pushing it forward, seems like their in a sprint to the finish line now. With that in mind, I've begun brainstorming who my main character will be when I finally get to set foot once more on Tyrian soil.
With the recent release of EVE Online's latest free expansion Incursion we all got a chance (i.e. mandatory) to update our character's avatars from the old, almost cartoony caricatures to the new hyper-realistic full body avatars.
I participated in the Champions Online beta a while back, at the time, the character creation was second-to-none, but unfortunately, the game's performance was horrible. The game has matured since then, I just recently returned to the game and it seems to have truly become the spiritual successor to City of Heroes.
I've just gotten into a new MMO... again. This time it's a little gem called Fallen Earth. Fallen Earth is sort of like Mad Max Online, it's post-apocalyptic and it's brutal. The game takes place in a 1,000 sq km area around the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, it's very deserty and pretty massive. There are no loading screens, it's almost 100% open world, which is awesome and leads to tons of exploration, either on foot or on horseback. The game is a pseudo FPS, you must manually aim at your targets and once you shoot, the computer makes a "die roll" to see how much damage you do.
I've been thinking about this for a while, started analyzing different bits of art. Admittedly I'm fishing for a Rogue-type character, because that's what I normally gravitate toward. So lets look at some facts.
